Updated Prescribing Principles now available

A major review of the PVS Prescribing Principles for Antimicrobials has been conducted by the PVS Medicines subgroup to provide guidance to members and their producers for use on farm. A huge amount of work has gone into making sure these are in line with the latest scientific evidence and take into account many sources of detailed information that has been produced since the previous version was published in May 2017.

PVS has decided to maintain the classification system previously used, since this is referred to in many UK pig sector publications and standards. The latest review does bring several changes though that are in line with the latest European Medicines Agency categorisation however, so we would encourage members to become familiar with this newly revised version.
