PVS Spring Meeting Postponed
Following the UK Government's updated guidance on COVID-19 from this afternoon that advises against all unnecessary social contact, the decision has been taken by the PVS Officer team to postpone the upcoming Spring Meeting.
Please be aware that we still intend to hold an AGM at the revised time of 16.00 on Wednesday 1st April. This will be a virtual meeting and further details will follow for those Members who can attend - please will you indicate your intent by sending an email with the email address you wish to be registered for the event to webmaster@pigvetsoc.org.uk and details of how to join will be sent through to you. This will be an excellent oportunity to update you on what has been happening over the last few months and to support the work of the Society in these extraordinary times.
We have our Autumn Meeting already in the diary for the 26th-27th November this year in East Anglia, so this Spring Meeting will be postponed until 2021 and will still be held in Edinburgh - confirmed dates will follow over the coming days and be made available on the website.
Those of you who have already registered will have full refunds processed over the next couple of days and will receive a separate email once this has been completed. We'd like to extend our thanks to the meetings organising team who have been working very hard in the background over the past few weeks.
This has been a fast changing situation and we had committed to defer the decision to those with access to a greater breadth of expertise, namely the Chief Advisors to the UK Government. They have now concluded that there need to be further restrictions on movements of people and we are following their advice.
Thank you for your understanding and we hope many of you will join us for the virtual AGM.
Richard, Paul, Duncan & Jim
