We are inviting you to participate in the attached survey as part of a desk-based study funded by BPEX, EBLEX and HGCA to investigate ‘Mycotoxin contamination and assessment of risk in livestock systems’. The project objectives are to determine the severity of the problem in the UK, highlight research gaps and formulate mitigation advice for farmers, aiming to produce information sheets providing key recommendations for farmers.
Gathering information from the industry is an important aspect of the project which is being carried out using surveys that will be sent to Laboratories, Veterinary Surgeons and Farmers. These surveys aim to gather information on the availability and cost of testing methods for mycotoxins in livestock, the potential effects from mycotoxin exposure, and prevention of mycotoxicosis. The results of the survey will be analysed and contribute towards developing information to be provided to Farmers and the Industry.
